Who we are

Controller / responsible party: Cybarete (Pty) Ltd (“Cybarete”, “we”, “us”).
Contact: cybarete.com/contact
Address: 3 Meson Close, Techno Park, Stellenbosch 7560, South Africa

What we collect

  • Information you provide. If you contact us (for example via a contact form when enabled, or by email), we collect the information you send such as your name, email address, organisation, and message content.
  • Technical information. Like most websites, we and our service providers may process technical data such as IP address, device and browser information, and request logs to operate the site, keep it secure, and debug issues.
  • Preference storage. This site stores a theme preference in your browser (via local storage) so your selected theme persists between visits.

What we use it for

  • Responding to inquiries and taking steps you request before entering into a contract.
  • Security and abuse prevention (for example, mitigating bots and malicious traffic).
  • Website analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the site.
  • Operating the site, including troubleshooting, performance, and reliability.

Legal bases (where applicable)

We process personal information based on one or more of the following, depending on the context: our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website and responding to business inquiries; taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract; and, where required, your consent (for example, if a particular processing activity requires consent under applicable law).

Cloudflare services (security, Turnstile, analytics)

We use Cloudflare to help deliver and protect this website. Depending on the feature used, Cloudflare may act as a service provider / processor for us.

  • Bot mitigation and security. Cloudflare may set security-related cookies when needed for protection or to complete a challenge (for example __cf_bm and cf_clearance), and may process technical identifiers (like IP address) to detect abuse.
  • Turnstile. If we enable a contact form, we may use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam and automated abuse. Turnstile is used for security purposes.
  • Cloudflare Web Analytics. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand website usage in aggregate. It is designed to be cookie-free and does not use cross-site advertising identifiers.

Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers we use to run and secure the site (for example, Cloudflare) and with professional advisors where necessary (for example, legal or accounting). We do not sell personal information.

International transfers

We are based in South Africa and may work with service providers that process data in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Retention

  • Inquiry messages: retained as long as needed to respond, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.
  • Security and technical logs: retained for limited periods appropriate for security and troubleshooting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion/erasure, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. Some US state laws also provide rights to opt out of the sale/sharing of personal information; we do not sell personal information.

To exercise your rights, contact us via our contact page. You also may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example under POPIA or GDPR-style regimes).

Children

This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
