About Cybarete
Cybarete designs highly specialised, bespoke industrial and enterprise-grade automation systems — from harsh field environments to complex knowledge work — grounded in holonic principles that support the emergence of resilient, adaptive complex systems.
What we do
We build automation systems that operate reliably in the real world: noisy signals, intermittent connectivity, constrained compute, safety requirements, and continuous operations. Our work spans industrial environments and enterprise workflows where conventional “one-size-fits-all” automation falls short.
We don’t sell a generic template. We partner with teams to design and deliver fit-for-purpose systems that integrate with existing operations, people, and constraints.
How we work
We bring a systems engineering mindset to automation: clear boundaries, explicit interfaces, and designs that remain stable as complexity grows. Where appropriate, we apply holonic principles — building systems as cooperating wholes and parts — to support resilience, delegation, and evolution over time.
What this enables
- Automation that remains understandable and operable as it scales.
- Robust behaviour under imperfect data, networks, and environments.
- Alignment between field realities and knowledge-worker decision loops.
Where we work
Based in Stellenbosch, South Africa, we work with mining and manufacturing operations and the enterprise teams that support them — especially where the environment is harsh, the constraints are real, and the system must run continuously.
